Magic Fingertips: A Gamble from Shein
How are these only $2.50?
What’s in the Box?
Check out this adorable package! Inside, you get 24 nails, a double-sided file, and a sheet of adhesive stickers.
The Nails
This medium length almond shaped set has a total of FIVE designs with a glossy finish. There are four irregular blood spatter/drip patterns, and one eyeball accent design.
The Numbers
There were 24 nails total in this kit and that matches what the listing says. Two nails in size 2 and two nails in size 5 had an eyeball design while the rest featured blood drips. I like that the eyeball accents were such different sizes — usually, the accents are clustered in the size 6/7 range and this really opens up your options for building a manicure!
The sizes I wore from thumb to pinky are 0, 6, 4, 5, and 8. This is a pretty average size range but I do wish they had a larger size to accommodate people with wider nailbeds.
Also, I did drop the extras all over the floor after gluing my set on and wound up losing one of the size 9 nails. I’m confident it was there when I opened the box so it’s included in the following totals.

Purchasing Experience
Shein has a huge variety of nails at very low prices. This set was only $2.50! Here’s a link to the specific listing I purchased from.
The first thing I noticed is that the product photo actually showed the press-ons and wasn’t a photo of professionally done acrylics. This is something you see occasionally on Shein — see the Note on Ethics section for more on that. The brand name (Magic Fingertips) wasn’t listed anywhere on the product page on Shein, which was weird.
Shein generally has reasonable shipping times and this was no exception. I ordered a few sets of nails (you’ll hear more about these later!) along with some dresses on September 10th and the order arrived on the 18th.
Brand Details
Shein is HUGE. It reminds me of a low-cost, clothing-focused online department store. I’m sure their stock of press-on nails changes rapidly but as of writing this, I see coffin, square, squoval, almond, stiletto, and oval/round shapes. They carry short, medium, and long lengths — it seems like the majority of the longer nails are coffin or stiletto shaped.
Shein carries sets with designs, bulk sets of plain colored nails, holiday themed designs, trendy styles, and more classic styles like french tips. You can also find nail art supplies like clear tips for real acrylic nails, practice fingers, manicure tools, and UV/LED lamps.
The Wear Test
I was absolutely blown away by these nails. They’re rock-solid and sturdy, the design is cool as heck, and they lasted for a long time with very little damage. They feel great quality and I would absolutely put them on par with a more established brand like Kiss.
The kit itself came with adhesive stickers but since I wanted these to last, I used Kiss pink glue to glue them on. They lasted a full 6 days and absolutely could have lasted longer if I hadn’t been so impatient to move on.
Now, let’s talk about visible damage. I scratched part of the design off of both my pointer fingers with a chipped tooth. The irregular shapes in the design camouflaged the chipped parts and made it hard to tell that they were damaged at all!
Aside from the tooth scraping, I saw some wear around the tip of the nail. In the photos below, you’ll see that there are some nails where the design doesn’t extend all the way to the free edge. It’s honestly hard to spot damage on these nails because of how organic the design is!
A Note on Ethics
There is no ethical consumption under capitalism and personally, I find that Shein fills a gap for low-cost, trendy, plus size clothing that very few other retailers attempt to fill. A good amount of my closet is from Shein and I adore the majority of clothing I purchase from them.
This being said, some of the product photos for the press-on nails they carry are obviously photos of a set of real, professionally done acrylics. Even though these listings will have real photos of the press-ons on the product page alongside the stolen photo, I’m uncomfortable purchasing from those specific listings.
The Verdict
This may have felt like a gamble initially but these nails were an absolute slam dunk! The design was so unique and creative and I felt so freakin’ cool while wearing these. I genuinely can’t believe that these were only $2.50 and I would absolutely buy Magic Fingertips nails again.
